Wow.
It's Chinese New Year again. Special occasions and festive season seem to lose its appeal over the years. Christmas, new year, now cny, and what next? They just come and go. While I was younger, I used to be more enthusiastic when these occasions got closer. Now, I get irritated instead. I want to go to school to finish up my stuff. It's closed. I want to go to the Esplanade Library to borrow stuff and read up. It's closed. I need to go out to buy stuff. Shops closed. I need to go out to take pictures. Have to go visiting. Boo. So much for having holidays. I need more time. Free time.

Got back from Dream Theater's one time gig in Singapore. It ROCKS.
I can't explain the surrealistic feeling I got when I heard my fav tunes belted by these veteren rockers.
The amount of showmanship shown throughout the gig brings out the inner rocker in everyone below the stage.
Though people do say that they're too technical and stuff, I believe that there's this life they bring out on stage and through their songs and lyrics.
Oh, their stuff quite poetic. I like.
Here's 'Under A Glass Moon'. Hope you all like it.
Dream Theater - Under A Glass Moon
Tell me
Remind me
Chase the water racing from the sky
Always beside me
Taste the memories running from my eyes
Nervous flashlights scan my dreams
Liquid shadows silence their screams
I smile at the moon
Chasing water from the sky
I argue with the clouds
Stealing beauty from my eyes
[Chorus:]
Outside the soundness of your mind
Bathing your soul in silver tears
Beneath a blackened summer sky
Praying for time to disappear
Beneath a summer sky
Under glass moonlight
Night awaits the lamb's arrival
Liquid shadows crawl
Silver teardrops fall
The bride subsides to her survival
By your hand
I've awakened
Bear this honor in my name

IT'S A WRAP!
At last that's one hurdle down. Couple more to go which I'm really afraid to face, though the most mind boggling one is already over. I've learnt so many things through this time of turbulence. Not only did I learn about the aesthetics of film making, but I've also learnt more about myself as a person. Like Naruto, I do have a kyubi in me as well. When I get pushed to the limit, that's when I tap from the power of the old fox. (I guess only Naruto fans know what I mean. Sorry to those who aren't into it!) There were times where I felt God was really testing my limit by throwing problem after problem, each getting tougher each time. My character was put to the test, and my HR skills were obviously placed on trial. I am schizophrenic. I turn into a totally different person when I seriously get down to work.
I do hope everything turns out well with the film. Can't wait to get the results back and go into post production. I believe this one would be so much better than the first one we did. Guess we'll have to wait for next year's SIFF then. I'm quite certain our first piece wouldn't get selected for this year's SIFF.
I know I've said it just now, but I just love it whenever the Director or AD say's it.
I can't use any words to describe the sensation I get from it.
IT'S A WRAP!

Oh no. I've haven't gotten my pay yet and I'm already thinking of what to get. I should slap myself.
1) I want my 20gb mono Ipod at last. My 6-7yr old discman is dying.
2) I'm thinking of a PS2. Come on! It's an investment. It's gonna help me save money by keeping me indoors.
3) 2nd hand SLR with set of fine lenses and flash. Oh gosh.. If I buy this one, I'm sure to spend more. The costs for film is a killer.
4) There're a couple of gigs coming up. Franz Ferdinand and Kings of Convenience. Both are a must go.
Bummer. I think the stuff here already adds up to more than $1k. And I still owe my producer money!
I should stop fantasizing about the money first. My locations are not settled, main cast not found yet, and many more problems. First of all, do I have time to spend the money?

Oh forgot to mention. I just downloaded an mp3 Leslie Low doing solo of 'Finer Life' from mojo's blog. What a fucking fantastic song. I emphasize on the 'fucking'.
Went for Nuance's gig today. I tried taking pics with an SLR today with Kodak 800 Supra. Will see results soon...
Seen what a 50mm prime lens did today as well. I swear I must get it with my camera when I get the cash. Debs says she doesn't mind passing me her F70 for free, all I have to do is repair it myself. So, that means I just pay for the repair and I got myself a free SLR! So now I can just concentrate on getting myself my 50mm lens! Goodness, you gotta see for yourself to see the clarity in the pics taken. Gorgeous quality.
Had tulang for the first time in my whole life at Newton. It will not be my last. I believe there will be more. But I could feel my arteries starting to clog up and my body getting heavier with each piece I savour. Furthermore, with the lack of exercise, I believe the risk of getting a heart attack is catching up with the risk of lung cancer. Hmm, I wonder which one I will die of.
I gotta brace myself for the next few coming weeks. Just the thought of it makes me frown. God help us. If I seem to have disappeared for the next 1 month or 2, I'm not dead from a heart attack or lung cancer yet. I'll be tied down with work. School work. Sigh.

At last! I've got my wireless up and going!!!!
I AM VERY GLAD INDEED.
After the close to 1 1/2hr of crap from singtel, and after that telling me to find the Apple people or the 2WIRE people to solve the problem. All thanks to the help from the ever trusty mac forum group in Singapore. Always go there if you have any trouble with mac. We are a closely knitted community. Mac people unite!
With my power wireless, I've successfully downloaded a whole Arcade Fire bootleg, Naruto ep166 (which is crap), and the latest chapters of the same manga. Oh yes, I love my fast speed internet.
HAPPY!
Now, things to be sombre about. Main lead last min walk out on us. Producer has to go back home to india due to family problems. WE ARE SO DEAD. Locations not settled, cast not settled, and a lot of other stuff not settled. We so God's touch right now. Divine intervention please! I will make the catholic church that we're gonna shoot in look good. I promise!
Oh, did I mention this is my first wireless post from home? Sweet!!!

Since it's the new year, and dream theater is coming to Singapore, here's a song for everyone.
Why do these songs all seem so sad to me?
Oh my god, the lyrics....
Dream Theater - Hollow Years
He’s just the kind of man
You hear about
Who leaves his family for
An easy out
They never saw the signs
He never said a word
He couldn’t take another day
Carry me to the shoreline
Bury me in the sand
Walk me across the water
In the writing of a tired hand
You’ll see the message getting clearer
And maybe you’ll understand
Once the stone
You’re crawling under
(once the stone)
Is lifted off your shoulders
(lifted off)
Once the cloud that’s raining
Over your head disappears
The noise that you’ll hear
Is the crashing down of hollow years
She’s not the kind of girl
You hear about
She’ll never want another
She’ll never be without
She’ll give you all the signs
She’ll tell you everything
Then turn around and walk away
Carry me to the shoreline
Bury me in the sand
(into the waves)
Walk me across the water
In the echoes of a tired voice
You’ll hear the message getting clearer
And maybe you’ll have no choice
Once the stone
You’re crawling under
(once the stone)
Is lifted off your shoulders
(lifted off)
Once the cloud that’s raining
Over your head disappears
The noise that you’ll hear
Is the crashing down of hollow years
Carry me to the shoreline
Bury me in the sand

Walk me across the water
And maybe you’ll understand
Once the stone
You’re crawling under
Is lifted off your shoulders
Once the cloud that’s raining
Over your head disappears
The noise that you’ll hear
Is the crashing down
(crashing down, crashing down, crashing down)
Crashing down of hollow years
Once the stone
You’re crawling under
Once the stone
You’re crawling under
Once the stone
You’re crawling under
Once the stone
You’re crawling under

My heart just cringed. I just went to a blog i've not step into for ages as I felt I can actually read it, and feel neutral towards what I read. Memories can hurt or put a smile to your face. I can't decide where to place this memory. Did it hurt? Or was it good? Had a talk with ??? about the issue. I don't know what to do about it. This is one issue which I feel that avoiding it totally would be the best solution. I would usually face my problems, but this is one exception. Keeping myself really busy is a really superb escapist trick. It works wonders. It brings me away from all thoughts. There wouldn't even be time to think about anything at all.
Today should be the last day of work till I'm free from production. It'll be full throttle from tomorrow onwards for school stuff. I've so many things I left uncompleted due to my money grabbing oppurtunities. I need the money for production! I need the money to clear debts! I need the money for vice! I've learnt that money can actually bring you happiness. The bull about money can't buy happiness. Those are just rich people talk. Bullshit.
